So what is the difference between personality and temperament?
The difference between the temperament and personality of a person or an animal is quite marked.
Sometimes referred to as disposition, a person’s Temperament is composed of the hereditary mental, physical and emotional traits they were born with. Where as Personality involves characteristics and qualities that are acquired throughout life, such as, likes, dislikes, thoughts and preferences.
The word temperament is not associated with people a lot, but is with animals or pets. People have temperaments as well as personalities and these are very different in the way they are derived. If you take a personality test it will be different to a temperament test and will give you a different perspective of your character.
